Expert Tip. Two of Golf Digest's "50 Greatest Teachers," Lynn Marriott and Pia Nilsson, offer private lessons at the Legacy Golf Course. This 18 hole golf course sits on land once owned by Dwight B. Heard, the noted Phoenix newspaper publisher who founded the Heard Museum. Vestiges of the land's ranching past remain standing. The Sierra Vista House is adjacent to the first hole, and a trio of grain silos overlooks the 18th hole. The course features rolling fairways bordered by native flowers, shrubs and trees, two water features and views of Squaw Peak, a popular local hiking venue.
