The Touro Park Inn is located in Newport, R.I., at the top of Heritage Hill. The inn is nestled in Touro Park, home of the mysterious Old Stone Mill, a 24 foot fieldstone structure whose builders remain unknown to this day. Bellevue Avenue features mansions dating back to the Gilded Age one quarter mile away. Newport's historic waterfront offers shops and restaurants less than one mile away. Easton's Beach is one mile from the inn.
Built in 1863, this Italianate style mansion features a porch overlooking Touro Park. Complimentary breakfasts are served each morning in the dining room, featuring a buffet and a gourmet entr?e. Afternoon snacks are provided. A library including books on the history of Newport, sailing and architecture is offered in the living room. The living room showcases artwork of local artisans. The Portrait Room features antiques and artifacts relating to Newport's history and the Gilded Age and family portraits by Giovanni Boldini. Pets are not allowed at the property.
The Touro Park Inn offers five guestrooms featuring cable television and DVD players. All units include private bathrooms providing tub/shower combinations, toiletries and terry cloth bathrobes. Accommodations offer mini fridges. Rooms feature high quality linens infused with lavender. Accommodations overlook Touro Park, nearby churches, the shade garden or the Pell Bridge and the Newport Harbor. Units are individually decorated, featuring inlaid wood pictures, canopy beds, seascape artwork and oak furnishings. The Birds Eye View Room at the top of the house offers views of the harbor and Touro Park.
